Introducing Constellations on Zoom
16/09/2020 @ 19:00 - 21:00
About Systemic and Family Constellations Therapy
Family constellations (also known as systemic constellations) is a therapeutic approach for healing psychological pain, originated by German Psychotherapist Bert Hellinger. It recognises that individual humans exist within a myriad of systems, these systems are made up of other individuals and wider shaping forces: e.g. biological family or the workplace.
We all have blind spots meaning we act in ways which may create undesirable outcomes. Family constellations illuminates how these blind spots may in fact have their roots in past events which took place in previous generations. Some of the stories will be handed down to us and we know them, however our actions in the present can be influenced by stories that we don’t consciously know. A constellation can help reveal these “entanglements” of the past, and support healing to take place.
Abi Berger and Rose C Jiggens
Individually we have long experienced the beneficial impact of constellation work on our own personal and professional journeys. We met in 2017 and graduated together from a two year practitioner training with Robert Rowland Smith and Nicola Dunn. Coming from different professional spheres – Abi is a GP and Rose a holistic therapist – we are developing a group constellation practice together.
What will happen in the session?
Each evening will include an introduction and a short exercise to help us all get more into our bodies and feelings. This will be followed by a constellation in which one person will bring a question or issue (the ‘issue holder’), and the rest of the group will support that exploration. Being both an issue holder or a support (known as a ‘representative’) are often valuable experiences. Each group will be a maximum of 6 people.
